Elisa James, originally from Sydney, has been a full time performer for 30 years and has spent the bulk of her career singing in Europe and the USA for the past 20 years.
Elisa began working as a professional actress, dancer, and acrobat from age eleven. One of her first lead roles in a professional stage play was opposite Mel Gibson and the cast of "Young Doctors" TV series in Sydney as a child. She was the youngest cast member of the Australian National production of "Barnum" with Reg Livermore, Gaye McFarlane,
and Wayne Scott Kermond.
She switched to full time singing at 17 and has performed in show bands, musical theatre, orchestras, concerts, stage plays and cabarets. She was a recording artist, session singer, and backing vocalist for BMG and EMI in Sydney, and her voice has been heard in many jingles and singles for radio and TV throughout Australia. In Europe, she toured and recorded with famous Euro dance acts such as Alice Deejay and Twenty-4-Seven for 8 years before becoming a solo cabaret act on luxury cruise ships sailing the globe.
Elisa brought her One-Woman Theatre shows to America in 2005 and has performed hundreds of shows to New York audiences as both support to famous comedians from LA and New York (such as Wendy Leibman, JJ Walker, Rene Taylor, and Joe Bolognia) and as a headlining act.
Elisa and her husband have just returned to live in Australia, and she now spends her time between her Holistic Vocal Coaching studio, acting in TV commercials, singing performances, and writing.
